Just out of curiosity, I Googled "Christ's Mass" and this strange little website was the first hit.

are able to find these evil roots in the Catholic church which was founded by Christ and from which their own church has its original roots.

This leads me to conclude either 1) this author has an incredible amount of ignorance about his own sect or 2) he maliciously wants to invent something critical of the Catholic church.

seem to think that their sect is the only 'true' one. My question is that if that is so, why did God wait so long in history to create it? And you are so right that most of these folks have no clue as to the origin of their own sect. Of course, these are the same ones who contend that the Founding Fathers were all good fundamentalist Christians instead of followers of the Enlightenment. Jefferson called himself a deist and felt it more important to note that he wrote the Virginia Statute For Religious Freedom on his tombstone than the fact he'd been President. And the Adams-Sam and John (cousins) were both Unitarians!

but Dec. 25 was also the birthday of Mithra. We don't know much about this religion now, because it was totally suppressed after the Romans adopted Christianity, but at one time it had a huge following (most of the Roman army) and was the main rival to Christianity.

As for the trinity-Horus, Osirus, and Isis are from ancient Egypt. You can read a more detailed and accurate account of this resurrection myth in scholarly books about Egypt.

I have heard that some of the "Black Madonnnas" of Europe were originally statues honoring the Goddess Isis or her incarnation as Inana. This is believed to be a holdover from the ancient Goddess tradition of pre history.

I enjoy looking at holidays from an historic standpoint, but don't agree with the anti-Catholic bias shown in this site. Intolerance breeds intolerance, and goes against the writings of all the prophets of every religion.

Rational? Is it possible for one word to be an oxymoron? One points at the author of this piece and says, "Rational." There's your oxymoron.

I used to be like this guy and I'll tell you he's not kidding. The derision we would offer him does not make him think. It only strengthens his position. And he uses the word "rational."

What I learned as I grew out of fundamentalism is that it doesn't freaking matter if pagan or earthly or even silly ancient festivities are mixed w/ celebrating the birth of Christ. (Whether one believes Jesus was/is God's son or not -- even whether or not one believes in God -- why the hell not add just another thing to celebrate at the end of a tough year?) The point is LIFE. Here, on the planet, until our lives are over. CELEBRATE!
