Don't google it. Just asking, have you ever heard of it?

And I don't think you should be reading it if you are or have.

3. Derek Humphry....
the author came to town last summer and
gave a talk at the Unitarian Universalist
Church sponsored by the Hemlock Society.

I had him sign an older version of "Final
Exit" that I read years ago. There is an
updated version out now.

4. Bad, evil book.
I'm sure it's a must read for CATO and the Manhattan Institute.

5. Heard of it? I have it!
Had to get it. There was so much controversy around it when it came out, I had to buy a copy just to see what was there.

I have "Mein Kampf" too. They're equally unreadable, but Final Exit has bigger type.

6. It's a good "methods" book
I am absolutely in favor of individual choice on this issue, for any reason, at any time. The right to life implies the right to end one's own life, IMO.

7. I have it
As I have dementia in the family, I need to keep my options open. If you don't act in time, what happened to Reagan could happen to you. Indeed, if you worked hard and accumulated a lot of money, it's probably even worse -- one of my relatives was kept alive in a demented state for two decades or more. It just went on endlessly until her estate was finally looted (she'd had millions). The frustrating thing is that you have to act before you are really that bad off...but if you don't, you put your family in an unfair position of watching you suffer without a brain for years.

10. We have a copy.
We found it on Mrs. Amok's mom's bookshelf after she died of cancer. Looks like she was planning her own way out, but the bastard cancer beat her to it.

14. Don't forget Asscroft's priorities
His FIRST priority after being annointed your God & keeper was to overturn Oregon's legally enacted "Death With Dignity" law. Hmmm...fry 'em and taunt 'em Texas-style, but don't let the terminally ill have control over their destiny.

I own the book and would not hesitate to follow its guidelines should I face a lingering & painful terminal illness.
