1. Lutefisk: The piece of cod which passeth all understanding.
Sorry, JVS. I'm not. But I love fishes and used to have that on a button. It made me laugh.

Enjoy your lutefisk! God Jul!

10. Hey! It's a Biblical meal!
Theologians have determined that the fish Jesus used in the "Feeding of the Multitudes" was actually Lutefisk. After all, they only had two of them, everybody ate as much as they wanted, and there were twelve baskets left over...

;-)

2. Just say NO to lutefisk!
My recipe:

2 lbs fresh horse manure
Tabasco sauce
Lutefisk
Salt & pepper

Place the lutefisk on top of the manure and season with tabasco, salt & pepper. Bake in a 350-degree oven for an hour.

To serve - throw away the lutefisk and eat the horse manure.

God Jul!

6. I should have spelled it Lutfisk! My grandmother was Swedish

She'd be 100 this Christmas, but she died back in 2000.

By the way, what made you suspect that I was Norwegian?

7. wow
All those old-timers from the old country did something right...my great grandmother from Scotland lived to be 96. SHe was completely mentally comptent and mobile when she passed..she died in her sleep of a heart failure. Whatever they did back then, they did it right!

8. I think her secret to longevity was coffee, fatty food, and no house work.
Grandfather would spend his Saturdays waxing the floors. He died at the age of 82 of a stroke while loading up the car on moving day because he was too cheap to hire any help and didn't ask any relatives for help.

9. My nan ws just full of life

My great grandmother's secret, if anything, was zest for life. She was a legend in our family. Just this old scottish sweatheart who would get easily excited, even at age 90 she seemed to be 10 years old. She had amazing luck, she used to win at bingo all the tim ethen come into the next family dinner and throw the money up in the air. SHe also thought it was her god-given right to spoil grand kids...when I saw her she'd always slip money/candy into my hand and whisper in a thick scottish accent "Don't tell your parents about this, it's between you and I"

One time when my dad was a kid his family were on vacation and crossing back into Canada - when they were 50 feet from the border she ripped out a bottle of scotch and said "HA HA THEY DIDN'T FIND THIS!"

We also found out after my grandmother died that the reason my great granny left scotland is that she was knocked up!
