A moment, please, for our new cat's "Tom-hood"....
As you may recall, somebody dumped a tomcat on us before Thanksgiving, and the poor fellow (who had an indoor coat) was having bad time of it, culminating in a horrible URI and the desiscion to make him Housecat Nr. 4 if he survived.

Well, he's going to the Vet tomorrow to get divested of a couple of "bits" that he really doesn't need, seeing's as how his housemates all got fixed years ago.

A moment of mourning, please, for his soon to be lost reproductive (and spraying) ability....

BTW, he gets along famously with the dog. He's been convalescing in the basement, where Ziggy spends her days when it's below freezing outside. They've been in seperate rooms, but figured how to get together. Caguht them napping together...:-)

1. Moment duly observed.....
but he still might be able to spray. My parents had a fixed tom that would spray things when he was PO'd at them---2 tv's included. :)

5. Awww... That's so cute!
I mean the dog and the cat napping together. I love hearing stories about cats and dogs who get along. :)

I don't know why anyone makes a big deal out of spaying or neutering animals -- is it a guy thing? It isn't like once their reproductive bits are gone they even miss them. (My fiance relates a tale regarding this having to do with some SRIs he was on that had an effect similar to chemical castration -- he sort of wandered around going, "Hm... There's something I used to do that was kind of fun, now what was it?") And as you well know, unwanted animals are a problem.

6. No moment of silence, but a catlike thanks for adopting H4
I hope he'll live as long and give as much joy to all who meet him as the ginger tom who lived with me did.

8. The SPCA already "de tommed" our new kitty, Merlin,
Edited on Mon Dec-22-03 02:54 AM by Valerie5555
hopefully they did it so fast he didn't know or suspect what hit him.

Maybe the kitty I knew of or Spike should have been castrated, fixed or de tommed for he wouldn't have done a Buddy Clinton.
