Just finished the Da Vinci Code
Best book EVER.

I bought it yesterday afternoon, went to a coffee shop, and couldn't stop reading it. They had to kick me out. I came home, read until I passed out at 2 am. Woke up at 8am and finished it by 10am.

I love it, especially since so much of it reflects research I had done on my own.

The web-quests are AWESOME as well! If you haven't done them try them! I finished both and crave more!

1. Okay, now read "Angels and Demons"
I think you'll like this one also. Same author.

7. I have that book on spoken word
from: http://www.audible.com/adbl/store/welcome.jsp. I haven't got around to listening to it yet, but I certainly will after reading this thread. It's unabridged and runs about 6 hours. "Angels and Demons" is also available there, so I'll consider that too. I get 2 titles per month, but I'm getting behind in my listening.

Those audio files can be listened to from your PC, but they also load very nicely into selected PDAs. IPod is one. The printed word has been my favorite since around age 6, but hearing them while using my eyes for other purposes is nice too. They're all well narrated, with some by the authors themselves.

2. I Loved It Too!
Like you, I couldn't out it down. At first I thought some of the writing was stilted, but the research was great and the plot completely addictive.

I'd love the links to those websites that give more background on the book.

3. It was an outstanding book.
I couldn't believe how much I had learned. I didn't agree with everything in it but still it was a fascinating look into different thoughts and perspectives throughout world history.

5. If you want to look like a jackass,
...like me, try thinking someone is talking about the Bible Code when in fact they are talking about the Da Vinci Code. Try to explain to them about number theory, and how they've been fooled... I haven't been that embarrassed for some time. :)

6. It's quite a page turner
You might find The Templar Revelation an interesting read, also.

The Templar Revelation takes about 80 pages to get going, but then there's a lot of very interesting theories about some familiar religious figures they discuss in detail.
