Anyone ever get a collection letter from Merchants' Credit Guide Co.?
They say they represent LVNV Funding, LLC, "who has purchased your defaulted account referenced above" (it's my ISP) and "We are able to offer you one of THREE (3) repayment plans listed below to settle this balance."

I owe my ISP nothing. Should I just shred this or report them to their state's attorney general's office?

Found this:

And this:
LVNV FUNDING, LLC FILING BOGUS CASES ON MANUFACTURED DOCUMENTS

As we have stated here, any lawsuits filed by bottom feeders such as LVNV Funding, LLC almost ALWAYS contain bogus affidavits and in-house, manufactured documents. Bottom feeders resort to making their own documents for court cases because the originals do not exist or cannot be located. These documents usually contain phony pleadings by some employee such as they are familiar with the account, the billing, the offsets and other lies they have no knowledge of. When REAL attorneys depose these liars their story is always the same.. .’My boss told me to do it”, or “I did not realize I was breaking the law.” This also holds true for the majority of the credit bureau reporting these liars and con men make, the vast majority of it is illegal because it does NOT reach the legal definition of “ACCURATE’ as stipulated in federal law. I am of the belief that any LVNV FUNDING court cases filed by them or their slimy sub collectors can be defeated by REAL attorneys, so let me know if you need assistance.

Would personally find out if this is on your credit report, then get it removed ASAP as it seems to be fraud on the part of the LVNV bullshit company. The site link below gives more info on that company and LVNV contact info.

Do some Googling. Seems there are a bunch of rip off reports about these people.

HOT TIP -- Do not call a debt collector from your home phone. Instead, get a free Internet phone before you call

4. Good advice!
And don't shred anything. Keep everything in a folder or a shoebox or something, and write down times dates and names in connection with any phone calls!
