Local news and politics forums.

Do any of you frequent smaller, local politics and news forums?

My local paper, in Springfield Mass. operates a news / forum site called MassLive. Unfortunately the level of discourse is pathetic.

1. I'm from Springfield...

(just moved to CT a little over a year ago). I never even visited the MassLive site, except to look for my own listings! I didn't know they had forums. But in Springfield, the median age is about 90, and the ethnic make-up is 80% "minority." Look how slow some of the DU forums get with a worldwide audience...Springfield MA is not exactly Seattle or NY. They just elected a 100 year old Mayor from the 60's to run the city again. Progressive, it ain't! (Well, except the Canadian drug plan thing).

2. Seattle sucks.

There's no intelligent life in Seattle. If you don't believe me, just check out the local chatboards/forums. SeattleSucks.com appears to be an establishment operative and is almost pornographic. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer used to have a forum; I don't know if it's still online. But it was beyond lame.
