Our dear parents
I have to walk over to mom's right now and fix her TV remote control. Whenever she switches it off channel 3 accidentally she can't switch it back. And yes, we've been showing her how for seven years LOL!

1. Made my parents a map
they still can't figure it out! I have one for their cell phone as well and they still call me cursing that the damn thing is locked!
"well there you go you have broken the damn TV now what are we going to do"
Click to channel 3.... It is frustrating!

2. OMG, my father-in-law does that...

:yoiks: They live 30 minutes away from us, and he freaks out totally when that happens. Although we've shown him HOW to fix it about a hundred times and even written it down with a simple diagram, he STILL calls us when he has a "problem". One Sunday afternoon, he called us, freaking out because he couldn't watch any of his ballgames. We drove 30 minutes to flip the remote to channel 3 and then drove back. :eyes: My mother-in-law won't touch any of the electronics, so she's no help. :P Technophobes.....

And this is the same father-in-law that wanted to get a PC a few years ago, and when he went to Best Buy, he tried to use the mouse as a walkie-talkie. He thought that was how they worked. For some strange reason, that didn't work.... :yoiks:

10-4, good buddy.... :P

3. LOL that reminds me of my dad.. he'd take the batteries out..
of his universal remote and not remember how to re-program it. I bet I fixed that 100 times. Towards the end of his life I think it was an excuse for a visit from me :-)

Enjoy doing that - I'd give anything to have to go to my Dad's right now to fix his remote

4. That's a great story
So are all the rest too. Before we switched from cable to satellite you would have to reprogram the TV to find and set the channels that you could receive even if the power went out for two seconds. That was an even bigger problem for mom so I got her one of those back-up power supplies that people use on their computers and that helped a lot. With satellite, maybe because there's a box you don't need to reprogram the channels.

BTW - Got mom back in business
