How many people did you date before you married the person you are currently with?

(note, for people who are re-married, count your ex-wife as a date. For those who are divorced, count the number up until you got married.)

My SO was the only person i dated after getting divorced.
we had known each other for yrs (involved briefly yrs earlier)
it was a no brainer, he was the one.

before i got married i was in a long relationship
that was hell.besides the stupid high school crap
i've dated three men total in my life.

Sapphocrat is the person I will be marrying (in Canada most likely), and before her, I had only ever seriously dated three people.

A hearty good for you. Anytime you can make a bond with another person and ease each other's way in life, you get my vote, not that you need it.

I dated about 232 people before I got married. I was very tired.

Does this mean actually going out on a date or just people you banged? The latter vastly outweighs the former.

I've dated about 25 people. I've slept with, well, more than that.

I was only 19 when I was married. I never expected or planned to get married so young, but life threw me a curve ball and there I was- and am. I had one serious relationship before my husband. I was with someone for 6 months and then we were on and off for about a year after that. I dated one person for about 4 or 5 months, and there were about 5 others that I dated less than two months. As far as being intimate, much fewer than that even, but more than just my husband. We'll leave it at that.

The weird thing is that my husband was 28 when we were married and although he slept with many more people than I had, I was his first serious relationship (lasting more than a couple months) and the first woman he really loved so in some ways, it's hard for him to understand that I could have loved someone else at one point.

I have had less than 5 "relationships" before dating my husband beginning at the age of 19. 5-10 if you count going to prom, dances, and other one time events. There were also friendships in my single days that some people might count as dates but I don't because they weren't physical.
