Lost Fans: OK...so WTF happened to Kate when she had breakfast with Ben

Aka Fake Henry Gale?

She goes to breakfast by the beach, eggs and french press coffee...

Next time we see her she's all bloodied at the wrists and obviously emotionally scarred.

Was she raped?

Was she attacked?

Or did she try to escape?

:scared: One theory (and I have a tendency to agree with it) is that she was raped. It's all psychological warfare anyway at this point, so they were trying to break her. My guess is that she tried to escape and then was subdued and then raped as a way to show dominance and control over her. Jack, Sawyer, and Kate would all have tried to escape, and we saw Jack and Sawyer try to do it.

That never ever crossed my mind.

Kate's entire character has been developed as someone who runs, someone who flees from any sort of confrontation.

The Others captured her, and Henry made it clear (from the tight, tight handcuffs) that not only were they not going to allow her any chance to escape but also that they were going to subject her to severe unpleasantness for the next two weeks.

Considering how desperately she wants to flee from any situation, I personally thought she was just emotionally broken from the prospect of being captured and being faced to force her fears (which, ironically, is about the only thing she's actually scared of).

The fact that she ate the fish biscuit (with the DHARMA logo on it) leads me to believe that she might not have finished her breakfast.

Possibly, because she tried to escape and they put her back in the cell without breakfast as a result.

perhaps she did try to run when Ben made the comment about the unpleasantness.

Tom (AKA Zeke, AKA Weird Beard) seemed to indicate that the bloody wrists were due to the tightness of the cuffs when he was leading her to her cage.

Dunno -- I'm definitely curious as to what he meant by that "unpleasantness" question.

Captivity aside, the Others seem to be treating them pretty well so far. Maybe they are "good people".

9. Well my take is

They are checking out Jack, Kate and Sawyer to see if they would be good candidates to be a part of the Others, either for breeding or for actual membership.

After scouring over lostpedia.com (check it out if you want to waste 7 hours of your time :) )it looks like the Dharma initiative is big on wiping out civilization and the others may be the future of humanity.

Like... she tried to run and Benry did something creepy.

Mr. Friendly was being very nice to her when he l;ocked her in the cage -- and I THINK it wasn't a "good cop" thing.
