The living room is now FULL of boxes.

Closed two bars last night, pretty late but good clean fun. I spent most of the afternoon today packing up the suddenly-ex's things. No word from her whatsoever, so unless she's planning a blitz Sunday (and who knows if that fits with my schedule?) everything is heading to the just-de-cluttered shed Sunday night.

It's just terrible the way she's behaving. She clearly has no shame.

1. She's obviously not rational.
I mean, do rational people suddenly up and leaving someone they were making life plans with the day before? I'm not sure that's how it went down exactly, I'm just saying.

5. Pretty much.
Slide falling off the wagon in there somewhere and you've about got it.

Last night a friend told me she's looking terrible and pissing off everyone around her. I mean, he told me that, and everything, but empirically I don't doubt it much. It's just awful, such a loss and waste. :(

6. Well, I'm really sorry it happened to you.
You're a good guy and don't deserve any of it. I know we always call you a dingbat, but you're so far from it.

2. You know what the nice thing about an ex making an ass of themself is?
Anytime you find yourself questioning if you did something wrong or missing that person, you have a memory you can look at and remind yourself that you really are better off.

7. Well, no real shortage of that
I can think of a half-dozen times in the past year or so any sane person would've run away screaming.

Well, nearly any sane person. :)

9. No bet here
At this point, I'm just planning on it. Which means I have to finish the basement crap, the possibly-important-right-now stuff left on her desk (kinda feel bad about boxing that, but too bad I guess) and the last of the clothes, which I have a couple of giant boxes for.

I expect the last push should take me an hour to pack, maybe two to get into the shed. Or so. Still not a peep from her, should I give her until noon?

11. Showdown at the OK Shed. High Noon.

It works.

Yeah, just mark the box with the desk stuff "Desk" and let it go. Can't be too important if she abandoned it like that.

My guess is that you won't hear from her for about another week or so. Just a guess.

I'm really glad you're getting your locks changed in the interim, though. On a related note, will her stuff in the shed be locked up as well? Be a good idea just from a liability standpoint.

Hang in there. You're making good progress and you've got the right insight and attitude.

But yes, the shed has a fine lock.
