Schools are now having lock down drills - that's the state of America .
My brother told me on the phone while I was at work that they had a "lock down" drill - I was like " WHAT??!?>!?!" Its a sad state of affairs when our children have to have lock drills along with tornado and fire drills. Its better to be safe than sorry but this is awful.

1. We had "bomb drills" when I was in grade school.
Like hiding under the desk would save us from a nuclear bomb! :eyes:

2. I was in high school right around the time of Columbine...
so we had lockdown drills every now and then. Everyone had to sit tight in the classrooms until the all clear signal was given...not good if you needed a bathroom break :P Hey at least the kids don't have to do nuclear war drills anymore...you know the ones where they duck and cover under their desks, as if a plastic desk would protect them from an A-bomb
