In May, my friend had to put one of her cats to sleep. So we were discussing it on the phone, I was commiserating about how she would tell her little boy and I asked how much it cost.

She replied: Dr. Bill does it for free.

Me: Maybe I should take Grandpa (my FIL) down and have Dr. Bill put him to sleep. Yuk. Yuk. (Well known that Grandpa was a bit of a PITA)

Little did I know that the poor old guy was already dead in his bedroom at the exact moments I spoke those words.

Gah.
