I was just scared by a deer!
I walked out to the lanai to throw a banana peel into the wetland, and as the peel was in the air, a deer bounced out of the rough and gave me what I think is a Very Dirty Look. She stood there for a while, and I didn't move, and then she ran around for a while and disappeared back into the thickets.

I love being close to nature! I have about 20 wild turkeys that walk through my yard once or twice a day, as well. And I have a hawk who likes to sit on my roof overlooking the wetland thingy. And shitloads of rabbits. Christ, they breed like Mormons.

Whenever I come home in the dark, I take the driveway slowly - one of these days I just know a deer is gonna be standing there.

1. That has happened to me too
The deer usually snort at me and stamp the ground to convey their hatred of me. I try to woo them, but they snub me anyway. Damn snobby deer. The freaking turkey diss me as well, I know it.

4. The Lanai.

Who are you Rose? Dorothy?

I don't know. That just cracked me up. Lanai. I never heard anyone say that expect for on the Golden Girls.

6. It's the Hawaiian word for "patio" which is Spanish for "back porch".
:)

I'd never heard it until I lived in Hawaii. It does sound oddly out of place for a guy living in *undisclosed location which is NOT Hawaii*.

9. I know what it means.
And yeah, I checked his profile too to see where he lives at.
Hope it's some tropical locale and not Idaho or something.

10. Well...reading that again...
...it did sound as though I were assuming you were an ignoramus. Sorry about that. But, I'll leave it, just in case someone's wondering.

I believe Rabrrrrrr-land is a place where there are lots of cows and dairy production.

13. I would remind the bigwillq that Rabrrrrrr is Hawaiian in part.
And continues to refer to the lanai as the lanai.

It was only a couple years ago that I realized that southerners also use the term.

11. I had a small herd follow me around once...
We were camping in the backcountry of Shenandoah. I woke up early to watch birds. I went away from the campsite to pee, and after I finished, a deer went over to inspect it. The next thing I knew, I was being followed by the critters...

16. You realize, of course, this means you could be stinking rich
selling your pee to deer hunters.

If it works that well, and if you are willing to sell it for a dollar less a bottle than deer pee, you'll be filthy rich.

What's next - are those mean bunnies giving you nasty looks with their beady little eyes?

"Hey Bambi - let's go make Rabrrrrrr scream like a little girl, again!"

26. Ha! The bunnies around me sell crack and I've seen them strip a car
down to the frame, while four armed squirrels stand watch, in less than 30 seconds.

They also like to push old people down.

And I caught them grilling one day on my grill, and I could swear it was at one of their own, though I could never prove it, since it was mostly eaten and slathered with barbaeque sauce.

Sorry. :)

You're very fortunate to live so close to nature like that. I envy you!
