I'm on the Marijuana Policy Project/MPP mailing list in Wisconsin, which had a proposed medical marijuana law go into the Criminal Justice Committee which I think was chaired by a Republican caught up in the play for pay political scandal-it is called Wisconsin Assembly Bill 715.
We should revive the process and move that Assembly Bill 715 forward.

To be honest John, at your age, and where you are in your life, dope is only going to make it worse. You will get high and feel relieved temporarily while you get high, but it's going to fuck you up in the head afterwords. I don't think you can handle or are prepared for the consequences.

Wait until you get past high school to make this decision. This is not the right time for you.

The other thing that concerns me is your disability. It doesn't mix with dope. In fact, dope complicates it. You should really consider that.

I am not anti pot, having enjoyed it on many occasions in the past. Any drug like pot can be a learning tool, but its danger beyond legal issues is the reliance on the drug as an escape.

At your age it is difficult to see the long term consequences of your action. It is not a deficiency, it is just the way the human mind develops. A young adult would not do what they do if they knew the long term consequences of their actions. It serves some purpose in the survival of our species. Understand that you are not totally at a disadvantage, you have the energy, strength, and mental agility to deal with many of your misadventures.

You also have the advantage of a community of people who have been there. Use or reject their advice. It is your choice.

7) Never before sex (it mellows me to the point where I become disinterested in "it")
8) Never before visiting Grandma (unless she whips it out first :D)
9) Never before posting in GD2k4 Primary... wait, on second thought, it might be necessary to smoke before entering that mess)
10) and, Never ever before a blind date (it doesn't make them look any better, plus it kills your sense of comedic timing and all your jokes will fall flat...)

We plan on being very open with our children about marijuana use. We will let them know that there are rules that go along with it's use and that it isn't okay to use any other illicit drugs.

My friends are a little to 'free'. They not only smoke in front of their kids, but some actually hype up the error of prohabition to their kids. I think that they are asking for trouble. They are rich, white, and educated, and think that they know best. I think what you are doing is noble. Please consider indulging once in a while, as 16 years is a long time. Again, congratulations!

They don't smoke around their children. They hide their stash from them. They have told their older daughter who is 13 years old because they don't want her to be confused from drug education. They tell her that they don't want to to do it, but that it is safer than alcohol (There has been alcohol problems on both sides of their family).
