My son got Dan Petry's autograph today!!
For those of you "older" baseball fans, isn't that cool?

For those of you younger baseball fans, Dan Petry was a starting pitcher for the Tigers in the 84 series.

For those of you who aren't baseball fans... oh well, there's always the hide thread button. :P

He was at the hospital my mother in law was in and was signing autographs in the cafeteria.

1. That is cool
and thanks for explaining who Dan Petry is for us non-baseball fans, who don't want to bother with hiding the thread. :P

It's always cool to get something nice which is unanticipated - I doubt he expected to run into a famous baseball player in the mood to sign autographs, while visiting Grandmother.

:hi:

2. Thanks!...and welcome to DU!!!
:toast:

It was a very cool moment for him and his Daddy. They were telling Mr. Petry that he had to leave, he turned saw him standing there and signed it. :D

4. Keep them.
My father has Hank Aaron's from when he was with the Braves. It's about being a fan I guess. It's a lasting memory of meeting one's idols.
