You'll never guess what song I actually heard on the radio today.
It's been stuck in my head all day....The only place I've ever heard it is online, and it's not on an original studio album.

The radio station was playing a "class reunion weekend," meaning that every hour they played 2 or 3 sets of four songs each from a certain year each time. I was listening this morning when I woke up during a set of 1978 songs...

And this randomly addictive song came on, causing me to sit up in bed and do a "What the FUCK?!?" at the clock radio...

"FM"
Steely Dan

Worry the bottle Mamma, it's grapefruit wine
Kick off your high heel sneakers, it's party time
The girls don't seem to care what's on
As long as it plays till dawn
Nothin' but blues and Elvis
And somebody else's favorite song

Give her some funked up music, she treats you nice
Feed her some hungry reggae, she'll love you twice
The girls don't seem to care tonight
As long as the mood is right

FM - no static at all

Give her some funked up music she treats you nice
Feed her some hungry reggae she'll love you twice
The girls don't seem to care tonight
As long as the mood is right

FM - no static at all

1. Oh, that's adorable.
Back in the '70s record companies would release "soundtrack albums" for theatrical film presentations called "movies." Movies were like DVDs, except you went to see them in public. And soundtrack albums were the songs from those movies, except you bought them instead of downloading them from the internet.

"FM" was the title song of the 1978 film FM.

;)

2. I know that, and I know that the movie FM sucked.
But the song is really addictive.

:D
