Poll question: How do you feel about college football games nearly every night?
Edited on Mon Oct-23-06 12:16 AM by undisclosedlocation
Forgive it please, non sports fans; I do have a couple responses you can vote for, though.

Maybe it's always been this way and I'm completely delusional, but it seems to me that there weren't college games played every night before this season. (If I'm mistaken, there's a slot for you to vote to that effect as well. Thoughtful boy, me:))

1. I hadn't thought of it before
I would hope that a team would do this at most once in a season, when scheduling conflicts made it necessary. It doesn't look like a lot of games - this past week it appears that there was one Wednesday and three Thursday games in Division 1-A. If an individual student misses one half-week a quarter for football travel I don't see that as a problem.

However, if a team had multiple mid-week games I would definitely consider that a problem. I think that does arise in baseball - don't NCAA baseball teams travel to play Fri-Sat-Sun series numerous times in the season? I think basketball also schedules a lot of midweek games...

2. Every night but Monday

Baseball being non-revenue lets the games be scheduled in the early afternoon, so class on Monday is still possible. Also baseball and especially basketball teams are much smaller than football teams. Mind you, I'm not up in arms about this or anything; were I voting it would be for the second choice.

5. option 2
I like how the weeknight games allow mid-major operations like my alma mater to get on national tv more often. Go Rockets!

But, I agree that "it seems strange that people who are supposed to be in college can play football on weeknights or Sundays."

6. I like football
It's better than watching some fiction show on TV.

7. I like football
but if I don't want to watch it every night of the week, I have a whole lot of other channels to watch, not including on demand stuff...so it doesn't phase me one way or the other.
