What kind of store is Lowes?
Lowes is opening a hardware store in my area tomorrow. How do they stack up against the other big box hardware stores? Are they less "Republican" than Home Depot?

2. As between Lowe's and Home Depot, Lowe's is the better choice.
They have better employee policies and give a small amount to Republicans as opposed to Home Depot which is a BIG Republican contributor.

5. Wal-Mart for Tools and Lumber
Odd layout, items in confusing places. Why are the dial calipers not with the tape measures and rulers? They're with the awls. On the other side of the tool department (curiously called TOOL WORLD).

Hey, lone assistant in the lumber department. Yeah, you, the one with the annoyed countenance. You're the only person around this department. Can you use that giant panel saw to cut up this giant piece of lumber into 12" sections so I can fit it into my car? And please, could you look bothered and act surly toward me while you cut it?

And please, turn up the "Soft Hits" you have playing continually? Being here isn't quite enough to make me want to die.

10. Lowe's is confusing?
The first time I ever went into a Home Depot (they didn't have them in NW IL at the time) - it looked like a Lowe's after a hurricane...it was a mess in comparison.

6. In terms of layout, products, and customer service, the Lowe's
I shop at is miles ahead of the Home Depot a few miles away.

11. My experience, too
And, I like Lowe's American Traditions paints way more than Behr's (although I like the latter's colors better). The horror stories I could tell...

8. In my town, the Lowes is just across the street from Home Depot.
But I always go to Lowes, mainly because the parking is better. Parking at Home Depot is the pits. There are never any spaces because that place is jammed all the time.

9. Our Lowe's is much more consumer friendly than Home Depot.
When it first opened, I got an unsolicited credit card in the mail-ten grand worth-which I quickly tore up. Good thing-when I finally went a few months later, I would have spent ten grand before getting in the door.
