1. I watched the pre-release DVD about a month ago
it was surprisingly good. Borgnine was very good as Satan.

2. It's Borgnine's movie...
It's a good, solid, trashy horror flick of the Saturday night "Creature Features" variety. The special effects are definitely worth a look.

3. I was watching it in preparation for the Hall of Shame at
www.horrorview.com but it was an easy 3 star gem. The conversation Shatner has with Borgnine in the middle of the desert over the water pump was REALLY well written.

Corbis (touches the pump and water begins to flow): Thirsty?
Shatner (sips some from his cup and spits it out): It's bitter.
Corbis: It always is.

4. There's already a half-decent DVD of it out, at least in Canada.
Not a bad transfer, letterboxed and all. I really enjoy the movie, from the desert atmosphere to Mr. Melty-Man Borgnine at the end.

5. It was on last night. That movie is hilarious. And all those people
involved... Ida Lupino.

I laugh out loud everytime I see. Anton LeVey as Technical Consultant! LOL. Al DeLory (Glen Campbell "By The Time I Get To Phoenix") did the score!

And the final "horrific" scene, when everyone melts. They were so proud of their "special effects" that the scene just goes on and on! The first time I ever saw it, I couldn't quit laughing because it kept going on and on and on as everyone melted into green pudding. VERY entertaining and even some actual scariness.
