I'm starting Act II right now. It is a very cool game so far.

2. My husband and I are

in the middle of playing a multiplayer game of it (actually we are almost at the end). We're enjoying it but I would much rather play NWN. IMO it is much more interactive. I was disappointed that you only have 3 characters to pick from. My son got Star Wars, Knights of the Old Republic for Christmas and he says that it is comparable to NWN. I'm going to have to play it and see for myself. I would compare Baldurs Gate to Diablo, which I really didn't care for.
