and here I am. We don't need no stinkin' news!

How's everybody doing tonight? I'm in a strange mood and am about to pour myself a drink.

1. Can I have one?
I don't care what it is. I'd like a drink.

I'm refusing to leave the lounge for the rest of the evening! x(

I hope you're doing well.

6. It's vodka and grapefruit as usual, Thom.
Though I do have some ruby-red flavored vodka which you can drink as a shot if you prefer. :toast: my friend. I'm with you. Let's stay in the Lounge. And I'm fine. Took a midterm today and got a 96%. My drink is my reward (that and the spiked heels that lace up around my ankles... bought them this afternoon...)

7. Shoes are good. I have the shopping gene.
I can spend hours browsing and buying even if it's for someone else.

Virtual Vodka is a good thing. I can't drink in RL because of the meds. So here's to a virtual buzz. :toast:

Mozel Tov on the great score!

The shoes are too funky to be worn almost anywhere, but I wanted them. How are you doing?

2. I'm emotionally and mentally burnt out and physically sick (cold).
Overall, pretty damn shitty. Who knew getting closer to equal rights could make it so crappy to be gay around here?

All references to The Gay Agenda will involve the phrases "Hello Kitty Trapper Keeper" or "3:00 Pedicure."

She DOOMED me to CHOOSING the GAY LIFESTYLE, because she inadvertently purchased me THE GAY AGENDA at the Sanrio Store.

11. The NY court ruling that Gays and Lesbians
are entitled to equal rights has people in a tizzy. We're going to cost Democrats the election by enraging the bigots. It's all our fault. GLBT rights isn't important and should wait for some conventient time in the future.

One person even said basically that we haven't suffered enough for our issues to be important enough to address right now.

16. Yeah, around here means around here. Meanwhile, in real life...
my Republican family and friends have all congratulated me on the NJ supreme court ruling. It was handed down and not even five minutes later, it was shit all over with threads saying that we're costing the election, we don't deserve our rights, we'll get our rights when the straights say so, etc.

You are getting support from your family
and I'm glad of that. Some don't. Around here there are all types, including, obviously, homophobes and bigots who care about the politics but not the people it affects. Most of us support gay rights and the whole gay agenda thing, and many of us respect and love you personally, which probably helps very little but I thought I'd mention it.

32. The bizarre thing is up until a year ago...
my mom was a HUGE homophobe.

I know that many of the DUers are supportive, but it's been rough dealing with this much homophobia in a place where I didn't expect it to be this bad (although I've seen it before). Plus the fact that the homophobia is allowed is very disconcerting.

36. It is interesting that the expression of certain viewpoints, such as a love
of bush's Iraq strategy, will get a person banned; while attacks on the NJ decision, with all its homophobic implications, are ignored. You must speak your mind and then do just that... ignore. The argument/discussion is huge and you can't hope to change the minds of ignorant people. Don't try, haruka; not beyond the most basic effort. God, although I do understand the urge. Do as I do, and assume you are the better and the wiser. You are.

The news is all bad today. It's all explosive and untouchable and soaked in gasoline. Worse yet, it seems to be coated in magnesium and horse shit. I don't want to see any more news today either. I wish I could hide GD too...or just learn how to will myself not to look at the trainwreck that always seems to have just happened there. :eyes:

33. First, I didn't read beyond the original post, so IOW, I didn't
finish the article. But the argument appears to be that the mere sight of women's flesh is excuse enough for man to view her as prey. Should such flesh be exposed, the man is not responsible for his impulses; the woman bears responsibiliy for them. I find the logic weak. You?
