I don't believe it...Cards ahead 3-1 in World Series
Man, what an up and down game tonight...Detriots closers couldn't stop running water, and the Cards took advantage...man, I hope the series heads back to Detriot! I predicted a 4-1 WS in favor of Detriot, and it looks like the opposite might happen....

3. I'm pulling for Detriot myself
its a cinderella story...the cards...good team, I had them in the playoffs, but thought they would peter out in the playoffs...their second half slump was horrible...damn, the Astro's were a few games away from being divisional winners!...:) Maybe not a few, more like 2 games....

4. I'm seriously shocked.
And I love the Cardinals. Love them.

Thought they had a good chance against the Padres. Certainly not against the Mets. You can reference my pre-WS posts ("my guys are going to get their asses kicked...") to see what I thought about our WS chances.

I underestimated them, both tonight and in the playoffs as a whole. I was hoping to maybe get one out of this Series. I wanted to see them win a WS game for the first time (I was eight months old in '87). Hell, I just didn't want to get swept again (after the humiliation in 2004, followed by the election, I literally didn't eat for a week).

I am SO SO proud of them. Whatever happens. Despite what the analysts have said ("Worst WS ever..."), this postseason has been one hell of a ride for us. I can't lie and say I don't want more, but I can't allow myself to think that far ahead yet. I'm not going to make the mistake of underestimating the Tigers, though. They're a great team, and they're in the WS for a reason. The two minutes of shrieking is over, and I'm all sober and worrying about tomorrow. This thing is far from over.

But whatever happens in the next 1-3 games, Cards, thanks for proving me (and the rest of the sports world) wrong. I've never been so happy to concede a point.

6. Great post...
I understand where you are coming from...my M's didn't make the playoff's so I picked whomever played against the Yanks...and since the Tigers have had a stellar year, and they beat the yanks(and for that, I'm buying me a tiger hat), and they swept the A's, I figured the Tigers would roll...maybe that week off cooled them off...

Not to take anything away from the Cards, they had to fight tooth and nail to get in there, and they beat a very good Mets team...with a line up like the mets, you'd figure the Mets had the advantage...but again, its the pitching that matters...and who would have thought that Jeff Weaver would have given the Cards an edge in that regard! Mr. Jeff "give up 5 homers before I'm pulled" Weaver....

Cards are a good team, I had them picked for the playoffs before the season started...the Cards/Astro's are almost an assured lock for the NL central, and with Pujols, I usually give the Cards the edge in that division. The Tigers took me by surprise though...great year for them, even if they lose, or win....

This, coming from a M fan, a Seahawk fan(my team finally made it to the superbowl!!)....the Hawks use to be a gutter team, and they almost pulled it off...so close, but so far away...:) At least the Cards are in contention most of the time...:)
