What have you listened to today?
Edited on Fri Oct-27-06 05:32 PM by mvd
I've listened to two full albums at cmt.com - the upcoming Sugarland CD, Enjoy The Ride, and Kellie Pickler's upcoming Small Town Girl CD. I loved the Sugarland - it's a little leaner this time, but just as mean or meaner. I'll be buying it for sure - it's in the A range. Kellie Pickler's CD starts out well - "Red High Heels" is charming, and "Gotta Keep Moving" is a neat blend of honky-tonk and new wave - but too much of the rest is bland ballads and honky tonkers with overdone lyrics relating to how the guy thinks and being one of the guys. C+.

The CD I owned that I listened to was Nina Gordon's Tonight And The Rest Of My Life - gave Bleeding Heart Graffiti a rest this time. Both CDs are brilliant IMO!

Always interested in mew music.

This may be my last music topic for a while, as I'm taking a posting break.

8. So would you recommend the CD?
Edited on Fri Oct-27-06 05:38 PM by mvd
I liked the songs I heard. Beyond the norm, like My Chemical Romance, Green Day, and The Pink Spiders are.

Though I'd probably recommend their album "Good Mourning" (which "we've Had Enough" is from) over their newest one, "Crisis" (which "Time To Waste" is from). Both are really good though.

And check out their song "Warbrain" too, from the Rock Against Bush Vol. 1 compilation. Probably my favourite song by them.

6. A bunch of whiny customers
Muzak
Constant calls over the PA for "another checker"
The woman who runs the meat department telling every fucking customer, "Have a good day, okay?"

Sorry. I'd have much rather have listened to what you listened to, though.

7. That's too bad
At least the weekend is ahead.

BTW, I changed the title of the one Kellie song to "Red High Heels." I have no idea why I want to call that song "Small Town Girl."

10. A list of what I'm listening to:
Les Claypool - The Big Eyeball In The Sky <-------------- currently playing

Eh, not the best Claypool release but still highly enjoyable (some really cool instrumentals on the album), as is all of his stuff whether it's with Frog Brigade or Primus.

Arsis - United In Regret

Fantastic death metal, maybe the best heavy metal album released this year! :headbang:

Iron Maiden - A Matter Of Life And Death

If you're a Maiden fan, you either really love or really hate this album. Personally, I enjoy it, it's way better than their last one, Dance Of Death.

The Killers - Sam's Town

I must admit that I didnt like the Killers at first, but this album surprisingly does not suck. I really like it.

11. I'm streaming Hartmann's show right now
But earlier I was listening to Shattered, a collection of some of the Exploding Hearts demos, singles, and unreleased material.

It's 11 bucks. I highly recommend picking it up.
