1. That episode was on last night

I am convinced there were mischievous stagehands aiming tribbles at William Shatner's head during that scene. :D

and again just now, on a different channel.

And Wikipedia confirms your suspicions. :thumbsup:

Shatner was being purposefully hit on the head by the prop man � and/or Ben Sisko and Jadzia Dax in "Trials and Tribble-ations" � with tribbles during production of the "buried in tribbles" scene. It took a large number of takes to get the avalanche of tribbles to fall just right.

Found somethin' else there, too: Nimoy ad-libbed "He simply could not believe his ears," which explains why Shatner turned to look at him when he said it.

3. Wikipedia knows ALL!

Loved that episode of DS9 too - I even had a stuffed tribble tie-in that purred if you squeezed it. I think it's in my basement now, where as far as I know it hasn't reproduced.
