1. Dogs mount each other as a way of showing dominance within the pack.
I had a female German Shepherd who would hump the male cats. She wasn't into other species, but she was dominant over those cats. The female cat was dominant over her, though.

2. I think I had a male cat that was
"in love" with another male cat. I don't know if they mounted each other or not but they spent a lot of time together in each other's houses and in the neighborhood.
They napped together all cuddled up.
Archie was a tuxedo cat and Sam was a tabby.
They were a nice looking couple.

8. How can you tell?
I thought all cats were created equal and that sexual preference wasn't an issue. :P Besides, you can't just tell by looking most of the time... and they'll come out of the closet when they're ready. :)

9. Wanna bet?
I've got one tortie who will. not. stay. off. her. sister.

I mean...she's not even subtle about it.

"Mom...what's she doing?"

"Mom, Cookie's doing it again..."

10. BAH! Not true. But don't read if you're easily grossed out.
Years ago I saw my sister's two unspayed cats, who'd gone into heat at the same time, um . . . um . . . taking turns cleaning (yeah, that's it, cleaning) each other's nether regions. They, um, enjoyed it.

13. That's my cat.
Only her sister's been spayed. And she doesn't necessarily have to be in heat, but when she is...

"Mom, can you make her stop? That's....disturbing."

21. I had a pair of female cats that did the same thing
and if they noticed you looking they just paused and looked up at you like, "What? You wanna join in?" and went right back to it.

They must endure more discrimination than the dogs do.

16. My smaller dog attempts to hump the larger dog all the time.
Edited on Thu Nov-09-06 12:14 PM by hedgehog
He's too short. I mean, his legs are too short. Both dogs were fixed as puppies. We sing To Dream the Impossible Dream a lot. The smaller dog also goes after the cats. Since he's way taller than them, there's no physical contact. The cats are very puzzled by this behavior.

They take turns mounting each other. And seem to enjoy it...each other...very much.

18. I disagree
I have a young male cat that won't stay off of my other male cat.
Problem is...they both like it.
The lay on each other, the younger one humps him.
They both holler.
It's really quite disturbing.

20. Our two cats are total lezzies.
And we remind them each day that they are. Our one cat even licks the others butt right before dinner. We think they totally dyke-out whenever we're not around.
