DU alcohol snobs
Edited on Fri Nov-10-06 12:37 AM by jpgray
I want to get a nice brandy for a dessert I'm making--somebody recommended an armagnac to me, but I have no idea what I'm wading into there.

edit: Obviously I want to snobbishly sip the leftovers in a big snifter with my non-existent jet setter friends. So keep that in mind.

1. Back in the old days,
I used to enjoy a snifter of Courvoisier after a prime rib dinner!!!

Does that make me a snob? I haven't done it for 25 years, honest!!!

:hi:

4. I may be a bit outclassed here, but
when it comes to alcohol, either I go with whatever rot gut I can afford or I get the very next step up from that according to price.

6. What the hell is snobbish about enjoying fine liquors?
:D

Course I can't afford it very often, but I enjoy it :D

For Brandy, Courvoisier is always a good bet.

7. Remy Martin

Try to get a VSOP quality. I think Remy or Hennessy are better than Corvosier. Don't go with Armagnac unless you get a really solid recommendation. There are a lot of expensive, but mediocre Armagnacs. And brandy is no substitute for cognac.
