It's been a long 2 months

Hello everyone. It's your favorite truckin' DUer here to report in for a little bit on a hotel courtesy computer. What's that? I know, I'm the only truckin' DUer. Actually that was true for a long time. At least I was the only openly truckin' DUer. I now know of at least 4 other DUers who make their living on the nation's highways. So I guess I might not be your favorite ;)

I've been all over this great country since I last talked to you all. It's been a wild 2 months. I've gone from making the best money of my life to making nothing and back again. I'm now teaching new recruits how to drive. It's a rewarding, but somewhat scary job at times. I've also got a few new stories from the road for you all. I'll post them when I get home in a couple of days.

I'm thrilled about how the elections turned out. I'm hoping this is foreshadowing a Democratic President-elect in 2008. One bad thing about this election is that, like a lot of truckers, I didn't get to vote. I wasn't thinking about an absentee ballot two months ago. I was just wondering if I was going to be able to pay my bills on time. That's no excuse, though. I will definitely be thinking about that absentee ballot next time around and I'll be encouraging other truckers to vote.
