1) John. At least he had the good sense to marry a true artist. 2) Ringo. That brother was way cool. 3) George. He was okay, but he lost his wife to that no-talent hack Eric Clapton. That's gotta hurt. 4)Was there another one? I think there was a Beatle who sang pretty cool Little Richard ripoffs in their early years, then descended into a morass of Tin Pan Alley-wannabe tripe after 1965. What was his name again?
9. Which band that ripped them off sounded better?
There may have been better bands (I personally like the Beachboys, Byrds & the Stones better) but I cant think of a band that was not influenced by them...
lousy drummer though he was. Stu Sutcliffe counts too.
I would say that anyone who played (musicially, god damn it) with the Beatles for an extended period of time counts. Hell, you could even include Sir George Martin if you want.
How can we possibly rank the Beatles????? At least I can't.
The "chemistry" of those four men is what made the Beatles great. I must say, however, that George was underrated. He was a terrific guitar player and song-writer. "Something" is one of my favorite songs. I think it was Frank Sinatra who said "Something" is the most beautiful love song ever written.
Long live the Beatles!! They happen to be my favorite band of all time!!!
All you have to do is listen to "Silly Love Songs" or any of the other crap Paul did with "Wings", and you reach the same conclusion I did - the majority of the talent in "Lennon-McCartney" was Lennon's.
