Anyone here familiar with "Upstairs Downstairs"?
I'm referring to the British series from the 1970s. It aired on PBS later, where I caught it in the early 90s. I've recently rediscovered it on video, and I'm wondering if anyone else is familiar with it.

1. It ran in PBS in the 70s
I saw it then. It is a wonderful show. Nothing like it since.

3. Watched it when it was on originally.
Just watched it again on video. What great storytelling.
Another one that was good was the BBC adaptation of Evelyn Waugh's Brideshead Revisited.

4. Good drama
I used to watch it as I was drifting away from telly. One of the last programs I followed. Very good the first time around. The local public library has the series on DVD, so I checked one out recently. It was nice to see it in colour, but for some reason it didn't seem to click this time around. Perhaps because I know the fates of the characters. But it's worth a viewing. Try to watch it in sequence.

6. I remember
I used to watch that with my mom when I was a kid. I've caught a few episodes of it since here and there. I really like it; I wonder if it's on DVD?

There's a whole site dedicated to "Upstairs Downstairs." You can find it here: http://www.updown.org.uk

They have some information about the DVD releases.

8. I am! It's one of my favorite programs of all time!
I have almost every episode on tape. Good thing too, because they stopped showing it on PBS here.

10. mmm, upstairs downstairs!
The cook was fabulous. What was her name? Mrs. Bridges? And the butler was such a good actor! And Rose, the upstairs maid. Perfectly cast!

Oh, I loved that series. I'm heading to the library one of these days soon.

Lots of DVDs available on eBay:
