any advice for getting a cat used to a new home
after a move? We might be moving soon but I'm concerned about my half indoor/half outdoor cat. Should I just lock her in for a week?

1. Or two.
That's what I've always done. Just kept them inside for a few weeks following the move.

Of course, I haven't moved in 16 years...but it's always worked before.

2. Yes, only I'd make it longer than a week.
maybe more like a couple of weeks, at the least, just to get her fully used to the indoor scene...before exposing her to the huge change of the outdoors and a new territory. Cats really like to have their territories, as you know.

Good luck to you and kitty! :hi:

3. My Mother says to...
Put butter on their feet. Not sure why, but she swears by it. And any cat she has done that with, or has told people to do it( and they did, those that didn't seem to have the cat run away:shrug: ) Had happy kitties that did not try to go back to the old home.

5. Gives them a scent trail to follow back home.
Someone told me about this trick After I lost my cat.I had just moved into a new place and he took off after some nieghborhood cats and never came back.I am convinced that was because he didn't know where home was.The butter would have given him a way home.
I hope he got adopted by someone.Or should I say I hope he adopted someone?!?
