I know it's just Ukariane. But I am worried. WInning three straight and whopin' the last two opponents may make Canada too cocky when they go against the Chezchs on Wednesday...that should be their toughest challenge and I don't know if they'll be up for it.

THoughts?

Though, the forwards were back-checking better and freeing up the D more as the game went on. The Burns line seems to go through phases where they feel they can throw their pads on the ice and score without working for it. Crosby was the best player on the pond today I thought, but I'm okay with Dawes getting the MVP. If they pull minute and a half shifts against the Czechs, Russia or the States they're going to get plowed under. Having said that, the contenders are all working on their shortcomings. Russia is always slow to come together, Czechs seem to fold when facing adversity with Finland, Canada needs to be better in the center ice area and the States needs to stop taking 10 penalties a game.

Anyhow, my 2 cents. All the contenders are identifying and starting to gel now, the tournament is only going to get better.

4. Welcome to DU!
Another Canadian - good to have you here. There are quite a few of us here. Where ya from? If you don't feel comfy answering don't sweat it. I'm from Vancouver but live in Alberta now (as of two weeks ago)

Unfortunatley I missed this morning's game but will catch the encore. I thought we played alright against Finland though. We still need to step it up a bit when it comes to Backchecking. I imagine it will come. Hopefully we won't have an easy round robin and then start sucking in the elimination round due to an easy ride.

8. I was quite disappointed...
Had the Ukrainian goalie played like a typical weak team goalie had the Canadians not missed some good opportunities, the score would have been at least doubled.

11. I doubt Canada would have kept pummeling them though
One thing is Team Canada has a nice tradition of knowing when enough's enough then they let up to let the others salvage a bit of pride. THe Chezch rep game should be stellar!
