A shoulder offered to Vikings Fans
I'm not a Vikings fan, but yesterday must have been devastating. My team is still in the playoffs, however, NO fan should suffer the way Vikings fans suffered. Chin up Norsemen. Come back with a vengeance next season.

1. Par for the course
You think Cubs fans are 99% scar tissue? Their last championship may have been in 1908, but at least they have one.

I'll always root for my Vikes, though. They have improved from last year, and with $20 million under the cap to work with this offseason, should be able to sign a couple of defensive free agents for next year.

2. Nothing New
This is the way it is with the Vikings...it is a metaphysical certitude that they will choke every year. It is now built into the psyche of the average Viking fan...specially the long term ones. It helps mitigate the disappointment one might normally be expected to feel when something like this happens.

9. tom-paine, break my heart!!!!!
There is only one team I cherish more than the EAGLES and that is the PHILLIES. Norm Snead for Sonny Jurgenson. 1964! Getting in to see the Phillies play after the third inning. I lived at 26th and Somerset back in the early 60's. Connie Mack. I was an altar boy at St Columba. Johnny Callison. Cookie Rojas. THE GREATEST THIRD BASEMAN EVER! Dick Vermeil. Did I mention 1964...?

11. Hey, how was I to know, pal? Welcome and come on in!
You are such a consummate Southerner (I don't mean this is a mean way, but in the nicest possible way, BOSS) that I expected that your team would hail from the region.

Nice to have you on the bandwagon, BOSSHOG. Hopefully this is the year, but after last year (and 1964, for that matter) it's just one game at a time.

Plus, it very much looks like Favre and the Pack are coming to town in 2 weeks. A very tough game but one the Iggles should win if they wish to lay claim to the Ultimate Prize.

Here are some Eagles Links for you, my friend:

(if you haven't heard the recently resurrected Eagles Fight Song, here are the lyrics...the tune can be heard in the background of Home Games after the Birds score a TD)

Enjoy. If I say it in a whisper, perhaps the Football Gods won't hear and strike our aspirations down...

"maybe this year..."

13. Thanks for the info Tom-Paine
As I plunk away on the keyboard I am looking at my Danbury Mint renditions of Connie Mack Stadium and the Vet (where I reenlisted on my birthday in 1987 - Mike was kind enough to get a big hit that night). I live 15 miles from Brett Favre's hometown, but no team trumps the Eagles in my household.

10. 4-12 teams that beat the Vikings
four teams finished with that record. the chargers, the raiders, the giants and the cardinals. they ALL beat the vikes.
They dont need a shoulder, their team has no heart.

14. Packers laid some eggs too.
4-12 Cardinals
5-11 Lions

They will be exposed in the playoffs, rest assured.

17. No doubt, but
how many teams from last years playoffs returned to the post season?
how many playoff teams did the Packers play this year?
we beat the defending SuperBowl champs for the 3rd year in a row.

You can play games with all kinds of stats of course, but the bottom line is we are on a roll right now going into the playoffs.

I like our chances.

15. Can't argue fishnfla, but I do have a question
If the Vikings did not play in a domed stadium would they be more "acclimated" to take on GB and Philly? Point well taken. They don't have heart (and thats sad, since they are comfortable at home, and they lost in a comfortable environment). You are right, fuck the Vikings. GO EAGLES!!!!!

22. Don't need it...
They blew it (again) and after seeing them in the Met and the Dome, I'm used to it.
Tice is a player, not a coach. He showed that in the first quarter, when instead of kicking the damn field goal, he "went for it".
I'd love to see the Pack or the Eagles go all the way, though. As long as they stomp the Rams and the Cowboys, I'll be satisfied.
Although I think I'm gonna give up on the Vikings. (And no, I don't say that every year.)

So :toast: to the Pack and the Eagles. Have fun, and please, please, please crush the Rams and the 'Boys.

(Off topic: Hey! What's that "Check Spelling" button doing here? Is that new?)
