Frat Racks Up $10K in Damages at Ozarks Hotel

In an apparent display of overblown raucousness, the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity may have found itself with a bit of a "hangover" after partying at the Lakeview Resort at the Lake of the Ozarks.

The Gamma Rho chapter of the fraternity found itself in quite a bit of trouble after being the cause of over $10,000 worth of damage to the resort last weekend. The resort, which has been the host of fraternities and their members before, has never enjoyed the amount of damage than that of which was left behind by ATO.

"I haven't been to a party that bad, but I was at a party in high school when a girl's house got trashed and things got stolen," said freshman Greg Shulman.

:sarcasm:

Not to excuse their behavior, but it doesn't take much to rack up 10K in damages these days.

9. Guess I forgot the sarcasm thingy.
sorry

but I stand by the observation that 10K is not much damage ... "Not to excuse their behavior."

I had some basic drywall work done in one large room recently and it cost me one tenth that much.

4. 10k? That's nothing
In college some friends threw a end of year party, complete with a band.Everyone was dancing so hard we rocked the house off of it's stone support pilings.
Needless to say, they lost their damage deposit!

Alpha Gamma Rho? Is that it?

My mom tells stories about AGR--the agriculture majors. She calls them "Alpha Grabba Hoe." :P

http://www.cbc.ca/canada/edmonton/story/2006/11/06/lakelousie-students.html">Student party at Chateau Lake Louise overwhelms police

One student was hospitalized and another faces charges of uttering death threats after a weekend gathering of university business students at the posh Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.

The Western Business Games brought 230 students and alumni from universities in Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge, Regina, Vancouver and Prince George to the Rocky Mountain resort, according to police.

Western Business Games organizer Kevin Collins, a University of Calgary student, is defending the event that brought together students from different provinces.

On Monday, Lake Louise RCMP Cpl. Mark Kay urged the universities' deans and presidents to review whether to hold such events.

The Western Business Games left local forces so strapped with noise and drinking complaints they had to bring in off-duty officers, park wardens and the park's canine unit for help.

Many of the activities for the weekend "games" involved drinking alcohol, including an event called the beer pond, said Kay.
