My list is ready and I think everything I need is on the list. I bet I forget something.

I can't wait until Thursday. I will have to stop at the sporting goods store and get some of that mountain climbing gear for lowering the turkey. The ladder I have.

Fire extinguisher? :D Three members of my family are firefighters. I think we'll be ok...but you might just want to call the local FD to let them know where you live and what you'll be doing Thursday. :D

A big one and two smaller ones. The fire station is only a few blocks away. I will let you know what happens, no one here as every fried a turkey.

1) make sure the turkey is completely thawed and the outer surfaces dried. Pat the skin down with a towel before frying the turkey. Do this before seasoning it. 2) lower the turkey VERY SLOOOWLY into the oil. VERY slowly. Did I mention to lower the turkey VERY SLOOOOWLY into the oil? :D

I'll have to check to see if it comes on again. Did you see the time he built a smoker out of a cardboard box, a hotplate, and a cast iron skillet? I have been meaning to try that. It was a novel way to smoke ribs or brisket. :D

17. Yeah, I think the smoker would work.
Especially if you wanted to smoke something 'cold' without cooking it, like cheese, or bacon.

8. Lowes has a 4 1/2 gal. plastic jug of oil. But...
when you read the label you see it's peanut AND canola. Straight peanut is the only way to go.

13. Walmart (yeah, I know) has the big box...
enough to fry a turkey...for $21. Louana 100% Peanut Oil. And I agree, you don't want the mixed oil. Peanut oil won't "burn," but other oils will.

7. Always prepare for the crowd, that way you can have left overs.
We will have so much food the table will be full whole length. Have a great day on Thursday.

16. I forget something every time I go to the grocery store
And that's on a regular shopping trip. For the Thanksgiving Day feast grocery shopping list? I'll place my bet on forgetting at least 3 things.
