22. Those 'cusp years' are double edged swords...
When young and everyone else was born in the '50's'...we seemed so much more mature...but then when we got older we became old farts much quicker...oh well....49 was a VERY GOOD YEAR!

Who is the oldest fart on this board???
I come in in the 'mid 80's'...anyone?
Junk

Turns out junk was in the process of completing his life when he posted that. He died on March 10th a few days later. What a charming man he was and at that time, he apparently WAS the oldest Du'er just a few days shy of his 85th birthday.

Prodigaljunkmail is his great grandson.

14. What a great thread you posted
Of course I remember him. Brings tears to my eyes knowing he passed only a couple of days after saying how DU keeps his neurons firing and how good he has it. What a good person. DU dropped a notch when we lost him. My eyes are welled with tears now readig the "Old Fart" thread and his G.Grandson's notice to us all that he had passed.

38. To be perfectly...
honest...70 has sucked so far. Was sick as a dog on my b'day in August, but worked anyway. Ignored my daughter's orders to go see my doc - and ended up in the ER 2 days later. Now I'm putting off a foot operation. Too much earthquake. I can't deal with anything else right now. But on the good side, I kvetch...but keep on ticking.I have the two best kids in the world, marvelous friends and even a guy I divorced almost 40 years ago who calls to see if I'm okay. And then, I have DU. I may not post every day - but I am always here - first thing in the morning and last thing at day's end. It keeps the juices flowing. Life's too interesting to take a pass. But then, you knew that, didn't ya!

43. I guess I'd better check in here.
I hit 75 on Dec.13th. It's been a wonderful life. My sister and I are the only only ones left of our birth family of 9. Liz is 88 and has me beat in the brains department. I hope to hang around long enough to see what comes around, but I would love to see my loved ones on the other side someday. I will say this, don't ever think getting older is a thing to fear. Life can teach you to take everything in it's stride. I am still young at heart, the child inside never leaves....and GO DEMS!!

49. 59 – Not even a baby boomer
I'm a War Baby. You don't hear too much about us. I was born while my dad was in Germany during WWII. Didn't see him till he was released from a POW camp when the war ended in ’45. We've been eclipsed by the boomers. I started kindergarten in 1949, the same year we got our first TV.
