How many posts until I am not a "newbie"?
I know I have a long road ahead but I was just wondering at what point do I get to be like you non-newbies?

:bounce:

Like I care.

11. A serious question from another newbie
I don't know where else to post this--One of my favorite political sites is Headblast by David Cogswell. It is the first place that I go each morning. Today, I get an error message and at the same time the dialogue box okaying a download pops up. I have tried it about 7 times throughout the day and got the same results. Does anybody have any info on Headblast?

13. Why don't you start a thread with this?
You would be more likely to get a response.

Welcome to DU. ;-)

8. Why wouldn't you want to be a newbie anymore?
Edited on Tue Dec-30-03 09:19 PM by nothingshocksmeanymo
Being a newbie is cool. If anyone misunderstands you or you post in the wrong place, you can blame it on your newness. If anyone attacks you for your post count being low you can hit the alert and get their post removed.

On the other hand once you have been around a while, people tend to attribute everything to your high post count as though it means something...they accuse you of being in a clique simply for the fact that you developed relationships with people over time rather than consider that they (the accuser) may be an anti-social ass and that is why people don't like to play with them.

Once you have a high post count, people hold you to a higher standard.

Once you have a high post count..people tend to resent you and use it on you for a variety of bullshit reasons.

Basque in your "newbieness"

Newbie is good :D

15. It's a bit like the apocryphal story about Abe Lincoln, who, when asked,
"How long should a man's legs be?" Lincoln supposedly answered, "Long enough to reach the ground."

You're not a newbie when your legs are long enough to reach the ground.

And welcome to DU, SHRED! :toast:
