8. Isn't she a sweetheart? It was worth EVERY LAST CENT of the money we paid
for her, to see the Little Guy so happy. He's still walking on clouds.

Mrs R is thrilled to have a baby around again as well.

And me? I've already taught her how to play "keep-away stick," climb up one step into the kitchen, and introduced her to the chicken. The chicken was a LOT less than thrilled, in case you were wondering.

But now what do I do? Mrs R, the Little Guy, and the puppy are asleep on our bed. I told them the puppy HAD to sleep in her crate tonight, but I just can't disturb them. (Don't tell anyone else that I'm being soft on them, OK? I have a reputation to protect.)

Good for you guys.

I took Monster Piranha Baby to the beach today and she was practicing her fetching. She's got the "Get it!" part down, the "bring it back" part needs work. Had to laugh because she's in that exasperating stage where you're cleaning up one mess while they're busy getting into a new one. And I turn into my mother, "stop it or you're going STRAIGHT to hell!"

A very caring breeder. And a smart one; as soon as we walked into the house, she handed the puppy to my son.

Instant bonding. Though I did inspect the pup's eyes and legs, and checked out Mom and Dad before I gave the OK.

48. Such a sweet little baby pup!
All beagle or mixed? My beagle pup is just going on 9 months old. They get big VERY fast so take lots of pictures now! And don't worry about the sleeping on the bed when you intended to crate train...the best laid plans do come unravelled! I swore that I would have a dog that sleeps in her crate and maybe on a pillow, no more than that (and certainly not on furniture). Naturally, she is taking a nap on the couch and soon will go to bed for the night in my bed! She really is spoiled rotten but how can we resist, really? The only thing I worried about when she started sleeping in my bed was rolling over on her!

Anyway, if you need advice on baby beagles feel free to let me know!

And Lucy, my baby beagle, says hello to Casey and all Redstones!

And she was a good dog. Lived to be 13 years old, and never needed to be walked on a leash. She'd stay by my side no matter how many cats she saw when we walked.

The neighbors could never believe it even when they saw it.

65. Thank you very much!
People keep telling me that she must be mixed with something because she doesn't have enough white fur. But she's all bealge, mixed beagle, but all beagle.

She thanks you very much for saying she's pretty.

Also, if you are looking for a good, healthy treat for Casey (for making her business in the proper places or listening to you) I definitely recommend Charlee Bear Dog Treats (http://www.charleebear.com/). We get them at PetSmart they seem to be available a lot of places. They are little crackers that come in egg & cheese flavored (which taste just like that) or liver flavored (which look like oyster crackers)...at least that is what I've tried, I mean Lucy's tried! One bag lasts a long time and I've been giving them to Lucy since I got her in May and she still loves them. They are very healthy.

I've always found that bitching and moaning all day is effective. Doesn't help your hangover, but people get so sick of hearing it that they go away, and you can at least suffer in peace.

1) With my back problems, I can't sit for an hour and a half.

2) When I could sit for an hour and a half, there was always some son of a bitch who was sticking his knees into the back of my seat, and I always lost my temper. It always got ugly.

3) Or there was always someone who wouldn't SHUT THE FUCK UP. That got ugly, too.

78. I hardly ever go either - mostly because I'm too cheap.
still I cried at King Kong last year - is that sick or what?

96. When I went to see F/911, one man got up and left
At least, I assumed he left. But on my way out after it was over, I was quite surprised to find him leaning against the wall at the back of the theater. I assume that the seats were too uncomfortable for him, but you know what they say about why you should never assume...

75. Yes, I am. Who the hell needs money to be rich? We could be living in a shotgun shack, and
I'd still not trade the riches I have for any amount of money.

76. "A boy and his new pup," indeed. And she'll be with him from childhood to
adulhood, as my beagle was with me, and our pooch BeeBee was with my older son.

77. My first doggie was named BeeBee...and he was a Beagle....
...how ironic....when I was a toddler and just learnin' to talk..my Mom said I'd stand at the screen door and call him over and over...I don't remember it but it's always been one of my Mom's favorite recollections from my early childhood!! :D

Congratualtions again on the new baby! :loveya:

86. I keep coming back to look at this picture.
This picture is doing me a world of good this morning. Your little boy looks like he'd defend that puppy with his life. (You do realize that you've lost whatever control you've ever had over your household, don't you?)

88. Oh, yes, I know. I had to type one-handed for about two hours today while Mrs R was
working and the Little Guy was at school...the puppy was sleeping in my lap and I needed the other hand to keep her from sliding off.

Me, the guy who always said no animals in my office!

91. You're a damn good artist. Hey, thanks again for the PM; you said some very wise
words. We really were planning to wait, but found this particular pup and knew instantly that she was the right one for us.

THREE DAYS, and she's alredy learning to sit, and to run to the door when she need to go out; only four small "accidents" in the course of those three days. So far (even though it's only three days so far) the easist pup we've had.

Even today, when the Little Guy was at school, and Mrs R was working, she was no trouble for me.

97. Best training aid I know of
Sunshine Liver Bait

* 3 to 3 1/2 pounds of liver, beef or chicken
* 1 cup whole wheat flour
* 2 cups white flour
* 1/2 cup corn meal
* 1 medium shaker of grated parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Cover cookie sheet with foil, coat with cooking spray, sprinkle lightly with corn meal and set aside.

Process liver in food processor or blender until it looks like milk chocolate. Pour into large mixing bowl and blend in the rest of the ingredients (except corn meal).

Spread evenly onto cookie sheet (the mixture will be thick) and sprinkle lightly with corn meal. Bake until no pink is left, approximately 30 minutes for one pan.

Turn the oven off but leave the tray inside until cool. Cut in small pieces to be used as training treats (just a taste, not a mouthful).

The recipe makes a lot so keep any leftovers (should there be any) in the freezer because they spoil real easy.

Combined with a clicker, you'll have that pup doing quantum physics before she's a year old. :)

92. OMG! You got your puppy a boy!!!!
Just kidding!! How cute they both are! Your son is a cutie pie, and the pup is a doll! Get lots of soft, doggie toy, soft stuffed toys for the teething phase! I buy "tasty strips" at BJ's, they are dried strips of Chicken breast, for my dog "Remi the wonder Pug". But you may want to check with your vet first. Don't know if they are for puppies. Seriously, best Wishes for you and your family!!!

94. Thanks, Mrs M! She seems to like the knotted-rope thing the best. AND, because Mrs R went to work
and the Little Guy went to school today, I got to have a nap with the pup! (Finally.)

You don't need a blanket when you have a puppy sleeping on your chest.

She's going to be a good dog, and an integral part of our family.

So, what does Remi do that makes him a Wonder Pug?

93. Awwwww.... that is such a cute picture of the little ones!
I would put that on a holiday card or at least blow it up and frame it. It's priceless!

We had Beagles growing up and they did us so much good emotionally - they are just an endless source of love! Your son is very lucky!

95. I like all kinds of dogs, but Beagles seem to be the perfect family breed. Not so small that
you feel ridiculous being seen walking them, not so large that their claws rip up the varnish on your wood floors, smart as a whip, and even-tempered. And the live a long time.

OFFICIAL NOTICE AND LEGAL DISCLAIMER: None of the above shall be misconstrued as a negative comment about any breed of dog, except for those yappy little annoyances the rich ladies carry around, Mexican Hairlesses that look like a canine corpse, idiotic, drooling Dalmatians, and the fucking Chihuahua that jumped up and bit me on the hip when I was twelve years old.

DISCLOSURE: If I could, I'd have pretty much one of every kind except the defective types above. Let's see: A brindle Dane, a Newf, labs of all colors of course, a Shepherd from Germany, a Catahoula Leopard Hound, a couple of rescued Greyhounds, a Dingo (not an Australian Shepherd, a real Dingo), six or seven mutts of interesting combination...I could go on and on. Just no Airedales.
