Irish Whiskey drinkers: what's your favorite?
I know Bushmills is not a fave around here, and I have to say that after my first (and only) bottle, I won't be buying it again.

What's your fave Irish Whiskey?

3. Even better than the expensive ones?
Jameson's is one of the cheapest Irish Whiskeys, isn't it?

4. Jameson comes in different ages.
The Jameson 1780 is 12-years-old, as opposed to the "regular" Jameson which is aged six years. There's also an 18-year-old one, which I haven't had. The 12-year-old is very smooth & nice. I love it. Great for sipping.

2. Power's.
I once got into a fight in an Irish Bar (Liffey's, Elmhurst, Queens) over Bushmill's. The other guy refused to believe it was made in Northern Ireland.

8. Definitely Jameson's.
Whenever I'm in Ireland and I can't get my preferred whiskey, Canadian Club, I'll go for a Jameson's.

Bushmills doesn't cross my lips. It's horrible stuff made in a horrible town....

Never send a Canadian to do the job of an Irishman.

10. Haruka, it's a personal preference.
I usually drink Canadian Club and water when I do imbibe. However in some smaller pubs in Ireland, CC's not available.

If I want a drink when I'm in such a place, I'll order Jameson's.

22. Ahh Canadian Club
We used to have a round of 12 year old shots at the bar. The first 12 YO was always good, but put you into the realm of doing a minor. Not Good!

So of course, you would have to have a second 12 YO. Now you are up to 24 YO, and very legal. It is legal to stop at this point.

I vaguely remember becoming an octogenarian once or twice.

It's...well, drinkable, for starters. As you drink it, the more drinkable it gets.

13. I just poured a Knob Creek
yeah, I know it's Kentucky boubon. But I realized I don't like straight booze. I need to have something with it. Guess I'll stick to my porters and ales. I'm a wuss.

14. Yum! I love Knob Creek! Though for bourbon, I'm a Woodford Reserve guy
I can understand not liking the straight booze - it took me a few years to get the hang of it.

Now, I only go neat with the whiskeys, bourbons, scotches, etc.

But then, I also only drink the kinds that are actually good neat.

Sometimes I put an ice cube in the glass, though. I bought a couple devices in Japan that make spherical ice cubes, and I love using them with whiskeys and things like whiskey.

17. Aside from various Bushmills and Jamesons, Tyrconnell is the only
Irish whiskey I've had. I didn't appreciate much of a difference from the cheaper, more popular brands. I'm really more of a bourbon drinker, but I don't want to say what my favorite is for fear of being made fun of. Well, I'm drunk now, so I'll tell anyway. It's Old Grand-Dad. I just really like the flavor.

27. I was just gonna post that.
Some Irish friends told me that several years ago.
I think it had to do with the religion of the respective distillers?
