I'm feeling festive today.

Up to 40 people are coming to my house for a party on Saturday night.

I've spent the last week cleaning, decorating, and baking for this event - the house looks really pretty with all the Christmas decor.

I've finished paying the bills and there's money leftover, my son and my friend's daughter are playing board games upstairs, and it's cozy here. I have a pretty long to-do list today, but nothing formidable (laundry, iron a couple of things, wet Swiffer the floors).

Right now, I'm just relaxing with a cup of hot coffee, tasting all the better since I cleaned the coffee maker. :)

If I have time, I'm going to make some rugalach today, but in the freezer currently are cranberry-date bars, snickerdoodles, and sugar cookies.

I'd like to have some Russian teacakes also, but they're even more time consuming than the rugalach.

and exhausting...but the good kind of exhausting. And the icing on the cake is that the kids aren't trying to murdelize each other.
