New Year's Day Concert with the Vienna Phil - Will You Watch?
The annual New Year's Day Concert from Vienna will once again be broadcast on PBS affiliates across the country. Here in Vegas, there's only one showing at 9:30 PM.

This year the VPO is led by Riccardo Muti. Program follows:

1. Naw . . .
I have enough CDs of the thing. Watching orchestras on TV is, to me, boring television. I might play one of the CDs, and I'll check out "der Faltermouse" when it comes on as it usually does.

2. Agreed that watching a guy flap his arms is boring,
but the TV broadcast is always enhanced with visuals and features on Vienna itself. For those of us who haven't been abroad for a few years it's a nice travelogue - not to mention enjoying a bit of kultur that's leaps and bounds above Nascar.
