Edited on Thu Dec-07-06 09:18 PM by graywarrior
Jesus Mary & Joseph, this has to be the absolute worst thing EVER. I can't catch him, and half the time I can't even find him til he flips by me and lands on the wall, then disappears again.

This is so no good. Little rat bastard.

I just did research: Giant flying cockroaches that you can't easily crush and aren't scared of light. That's all I need to read.

1. You gotta just grab the yellow pages and go into The Zone...
It'll be messy but it's quite effective.

Perhaps it's just looking for something.

But at 3 am, he'll chase the shadow of a leaf on the window.

6. Yeah, my cats are good at catching them
but I hate to kill things (except mosquitos, fair game) so I try to catch the palmettos with a glass and paper and then set them free to go terrorize someone else.

14. So I slept in terror all last night. Getting up to go take a pee was horrifying.
I like the airforce idea, however. But I'm afraid to see the look on their faces. They're ugly enough just seeing their disgusting wings and legs.

22. They really are disgusting
I live in Seattle with schizophrenic weather but at generally SMALL bugs except for those huge house spiders. At least they don't fly.

Yuk

21. Borax!
That seems to be the word from this thread.

Borax really helped when I had silverfish in my cupboards.

It's an interesting read.
Good luck.

But that's a good idea. I heard that pouring soapy dishwater outside your doors keeps bugs out, too.

Where do they go? They're huge, where in the hell do they go when they're that huge?

This is ruining my serenity.

27. Get out a vacuum with a hose attachment.
Edited on Fri Dec-08-06 07:37 PM by seawolf
Then go suck the little bitch up with the hose, pour a lot of boric acid down there to keep the vermin company, and plug the hole with a plastic bag so the bug can't crawl out once you shut the vacuum down.

Is it just me, or does the Sarasota-Bradenton area have a higher percentage of those things than the rest of the state?\

Edit: And they can hide REALLY WELL. Like other roaches, they can compress down to fit into small spaces.
