Nine new shoots on my philodendron

I can grow things outside, but bring a plant into my house at your own risk. It's kind of a plant hospice, really. They're all not long for the world once I get my hands on them.

But I gave it another shot late this fall and picked up a philodendron at the nursery, on the promise of an employee there that I really wouldn't be able to kill it.

Sure enough, it's going gangbusters. By this time next week it'll have nine fresh new leaves. They're just now testing the air and opening up.

(Takes moment to bask in self-congratulation.)

Let's just say there are a few plants that wish I had known what I was doing over the past 20 years. On the upside, my backyard was always nicely mulched. :evilgrin:
