I have a humongous zit .....
Edited on Sun Dec-10-06 03:49 PM by Bullwinkle925
right underneath my eyebrow (ouch) which is causing the surrounding tissue to swell and sort of overlap into the corner of my eye. Weird. How long must one go through PUBERTY for crissakes??
Must go put some ice on it, I guess.

If that's the worst that happens to me right now, I guess I'm damned lucky.

edited for grammar (sheesh)

2. Good grief.
I still have a couple of decades to go then. Hmmm - probably would be a good thing to invest in companies that produce acne products.

3. I Don't Think Puberty Ever Ends
until we're toes up!

So be glad?

I hate zits too, I get one once in a while on my nose, or my forehead, or my cheek that drives me crazy. I should be well past puberty too.

10. I was lucky as a teenager
I had no acne at all. Now? I swear over the past year, I've gotten more zits (usually at the tip of my nose - lovely-, the bridge of my nose or along my hairline than I have in my entire life. :wtf:

11. Wet a washcloth with very warm water, squeeze it out, and hold it against the zit
several times. You want to increase the circulation to the area, not decrease it with ice application.
Your blood will carry white blood cells that attack the bad guys responsible for the localized infection. The pain will be soothed, too, and it may allow the zit to heal from within or surface and dry up, aided by salicylic acid stuff.
I admit I'm in that awkward stage where I have to peer through my trifocals to inspect a pimple!

27. My skin has been so fucked recently
I had pretty bad acne as a teenager, but I was mostly clean throughout my 20's.

But ever since my 33rd birthday my skin has been a disaster. I just can't get it healthy.

I swear, you can see my pores from frickin outerspace.

32. that's what I was thinking... possible ingrown hair
if it's that close to your eyebrow.

Either way, a warm cloth will bring it to point where it will drain or you can help it along a bit. DO NOT SQUEEZE IT if you can't see the 'head' of the pimple - you can damage the tissue, esp. such delicate skin around the eye.

33. True - there is not a chance that I would even try to squeeze this little
bugger right now. Much too tender. I'll keep using the warm compresses and keep trying the salcylic acids. Egads.

34. but the warm compresses are trying to bring
it to a head so it can pop and drain, and the salicylic acid is used to diminish it. You're confusing your skin. One or the other.
