Is this so wrong?
I suggested to my kids that we get this tree for xmas. Now my 10 year old is in her room crying. Sheesh.

2. Nah
Hell, when my kids were little and acting up, I'd ask them if they wanted to play Hansel and Gretel. Got a lot of nasty looks from other people but I thought it was a riot.

That's what kids are there for - to torment. O8)

4. I see we went to the same school of mothering
Although I never came up with something as excellent as playing Hansel and Gretel.

6. It was great because at first they didn't know the story really
They just thought it was wonderful that I was offering to play a new game with them so they'd be all eager and saying, "Yes! Yes! Let's play Hansel and Gretel!"

My sister and I also had them convinced that a nearby outlet center was the orphanage. They'd be all rowdy and out of control and we'd tell them, "That's it! You're going to the orphanage! Get in the car!" And we'd drive to the outlet center and go shopping. They'd be on their best behavior because they thought they'd get left there.

Surprisingly enough, they've turned out to be great adults.

3. When our tree fell down last night
my daughter suggested the same thing for next year. Go hug your kid!
