1. If it ain't broke, don't fix it HT.
There are those who see Asperger's as an advantage to creative thought.

3. There is a logic to that.
Especially when applied to certain sectors of the media industry, I probably do have a future after all. :)

4. Not just no but HELL NO!
For one thing, the alleged "experts" don't know any more about what makes Aspies tick than they do about how to get us out of Iraq. :P

For another, Dr. Temple Grandin, perhaps the best-known person with autism, has stated, for the record, that if science came up with a little blue pill that would turn her into a "neurotypical", she wouldn't take it, for pretty much the reasons stated in post #1.

5. Trust me, but I think 'hell yes' would be more apropos.
It's enough trouble trying to understand other people... but it's just about as bad when they don't understand you or try to take your own shortcomings into the situation.

Still, I'm alive. Maybe this is my purpose in your sad society. My previous life must've been a real doozy.

7. I'll pay.
Let's just say I'll do what it takes to live a normal life. Hurting others' feelings is inevitable, but I'm glad some take the time to get to the bottom of things.

9. You bet it's all in the head.
That's why I want to change it.

You're a mod so you've seen the string of posts. Again, it's nice to see some following up. Nor can I blame those who've "let me go". I can live through that, I've lived through far worse. And when I say "I can live with that" please don't assume I say it nonchalantly. I've always been a social feeb. But I've survived...

11. Why change, who you are?
You are who you are...I couldn't change myself, even if I tried...Oh, I could pull it off for a while, but the real petersond would come through. We all deal with our various issues, just dont' lose yourself bub...:D

I would hate to lose myself...I've been through some things, that could've made my life worse(than it was), but I pulled through...and you will too. BTW, I bought a saw too, so if you need a face lift, I got that covered too...

I kid, I kid... :hi:

16. I feel lost, but maybe it is all a mere feeling.
Accidents are unavoidable and to those I injure, I only hope they take the time to forgive. Like I said to my landlord, I often make mistakes. I'm not deliberately mean but I do make a lot of accidental blunders. :(

18. Being lost,
it happens to the best of us...just sit down, and fetter out your bearings, and get yourself back into your groove. Accidents, are called accidents, well...because they are accidents! Bad things happen all the time, you just have to deal with them when they happen, and perhaps time will heal a good portion of that up...

What did you do to your landlord anyways? Throw a party, and use a sledge hammer on the walls during a drunken rage?

19. Not the landlord, per se...
I heard some pounding the other night. Thought I upset the neighbor below, with something being too loud (dishwasher?)

I asked the landlord and she said it's just the pipes and it was conscientious of me to ask. That's when I replied I'm not out to deliberately annoy people, but for being in my own narrow mindset I do accidentally cause annoyances. :(

20. Oh, you shouldn't
be worrying yourself over that...:) The landlord was probably just all pissed off from fixing/dealing with something else. During my apartment days...oh boy, if I got a nickel for each time my neighbor stomped on the floor, for me to turn my music down, I'd be rich!....:D In all honesty, my neighbor above me, was a nut case...I would be sleeping, and I would her him stomping "be quiet down there, be quiet, I'm trying to sleep!!" And I'd be all confused...the guy was weird, to put it bluntly.

And every night, it sounded like he was moving a piano/table from one side of his living room, to another spot...it was eerie. Another good one...this one is classic...my neighbor across the hallway from me, was an elderly lady, who had a boyfriend, who had the same name as me...we had different middle names, but same first/last names...

Now, this guy was a piece of work...he was drunk all the time, being violent, breaking windows, being loud, he was a 100% dweeb. Now, I would get these letters in from our landlord, saying that I need to stop breaking stuff, pay for broken windows, and stop making noise, or I would be evicted. I was like, WTF is going on here? I asked my neighbor lady about this...and she told me it wasn't me, but her boyfriend...and thats when I found out there was another petersond running around, causing grief....

21. I've been worrying over other things,
using the apartment situation as a comparison - solely for the quote I'd mention to the landlord.

Did you get the attachment so you can use it on the various "circumcision" threads that are popping up lately?

(as I grimace and cross my legs)

:)

edit: Back to the topic, my vote is no. Too little is known about AS to attempt a surgical fix. But I am not a doctor.

15. To a large extent.
While people say there are plus sides to my "condition", there are negative sides. People don't understand these negative sides. I still don't, otherwise I wouldn't be repeating them.
