I just applied for a new passport (last expired in '78)

3. Was in Europe for a year... maybe it's
time to repeat that experience. Was extremely influential in my development of a less eco-centric perspective. Although, Bali, New Zealand and Australia would be pretty awesome. Better go buy my lottery ticket. :bounce:

5. It's summer in the southern hemisphere
and you could camp New Zealand cheap. I spent ten days there w/accomodation costs at $55 US.

Think about it. :)

Bali is wonderful if you stay out of the Kuta area. Head north.

Australia is worth finding a job for and settling in.

6. Have a couple of on-line friends in N.Z. and Oz to stay with for a bit there
I am so close to just dumping it all and going on the ole walkabout.

9. I did that once
sold everything, bought a good bicycle, tent and sleeping bag, and headed to Ireland and beyond for six months, which turned into 2-1/2 years. Best decision I ever made.

You can get a pretty good deal going to China, but you have to book through a Chinese travel agency.
