Computer date files question...
Just got an Apple IMAC 2 months ago; had an emachine for over 6 years; all my digital photo files are on this old computer. The CD drives and my Iomega zip drive are shot; some have suggested uploading data to storage sites on the web but the thing only stays on for 30 minutes before shutting itself off.

Is there a way to scavenge the hard drive from the old machine and hook it up to the Apple? Any info would be appreciated.

1. Try networking the two computers maybe?
Transfer the files over the network.

3. Have you thought of using a flash stick?
Dump all you can onto the flash drive while your old machine is running, and you can put it on your Mac at your leisure.

I just bought a MacBook. Should be here tonight or tomorrow! :woohoo:

Have been putting my pics on flash stick just for this very reason :)
