1. Gawdawful 80's/90's metal. Poison, Helix, Pretty Boy Floyd
Kix...and yes, even Warrant.

The shame is all mine.

Ah disco, I really loved to dance to disco. It was the best.

But for my favorite music, outside of classical, has to be bossa nova. I fell in love with that music when I went to Brazil in the early 60s. It was entrancing. Still is.

69. My confession:
I like the aforementioned Huey Lewis, Billy Joel, Phil Collins (with and without Genesis; I like both Gabriel and Collins Genesis), and late 70s/early 80s arena rock (by the likes of Styx, REO Speedwagon, Journey, Foreigner, Kansas, Bad Company). There's some songs by Barry Manilow, George Michael and Wham, and Air Supply that I actually like as well. Let's face it; I'm a commercial pop music dork :P.

71. "What's New Pussycat?" sung by Tom Jones...
It's campy! It's cheesy! It's theatrical! But, it always makes me giggle and sing along, dramatically.

And it's 180 degrees from my usual fare.

74. I prefer "She's a Lady" or "You Can Leave Your Hat On"
My mom was a huge Tom Jones fan back in the day... think she still has most of her old vinyl.

77. I was too young to be a fan of his back in the day....
Edited on Thu Dec-21-06 03:20 AM by Zookeeper
He wasn't cool. And he was OLD. His rival at the time was Englebert Humperdink, who was just creepy. Tom Jones always seemed like he had a decent sense of humor about himself.

I don't think I've heard T.J.'s version of "You Can Leave Your Hat On," only the Randy Newman recording.
The other T.J. song I like is "Hard to Handle." 'Not sure if that's actually the title, though.

On edit for spelling. (That Humperdi*k could've gotten me deleted.)

93. In all seriousness, I think that is one of the best 'theme' albums to come out
of the rock/pop era.

It is my favorite CD of all time, beginning to end.

And the videos for this album are so 80's cheesy, they are lovable.

100. It's about love, dude.
All of the songs have to do with love.

Wishing for it.

Getting it.

Losing it.

Being sad about losing it.

Having your heart broken over it.

You've never noticed that?

88. Too much to mention
I've really started to love Louis Prima latelty, and I recently downloaded the Jungle Book soundtrack just to listen to him sing "I wanna be like you-oo-oo".

I love silly stuff, crooners, classical, jazz, pretty much anything that isn't cool, plus some cool stuff too.

Don't get me wrong, songs like "In my Dreams" make me ill, but stuff like "Lightning Strikes Again," "Tooth and Nail," and other harder ones are the only things left that I like about the 80's hair band era.

109. Tom Jones
A few years back, he started sounding good. Maybe because he was different from what I had been listening to. I tried a 12-step program but fell off the wagon due to secret ABBA listening. My life was ruined. Now I sit out on the street, begging for change to buy batteries for my walkman so I can listen to Tom Jones and ABBA.
