1. Watch out for those polydactyls.

I have one who wakes me up every morning with a polydactyl paw in my face. He was a stray, and when I first saw him, I thought something horrible had happened to his paws! Have fun with your little "poly". (Wish you had a picture).

I firmly believe that feral cats are evolving. The extra claws help with capturing prey, and defense. We are witnessing evolution right before our eyes, and to me, it's a magical thing! I don't know about opposable thumbs though... Hmmmm, a cat with kung-fu grip? That would be neat!

7. Domestic cats have longer digestive tracts than their closest wild cousins...

and with good reason, with all the crap we feed them as pets. Also, their behavior is markedly different than their closest wild cousin, the African Wild Cat. African wild cats do NOT socialize outside of mating, domestic cats, even feral ones, that haven't had contact with humans, will socialize with each other outside of just mating. They still HUNT alone, but females will help raise each other's young, stuff like that.

Funniest thing I ever saw. She could make her paw into a sort of spoon shape, and she'd pitch small objects at the other cat.

She's an orange domestic long hair half grown kitten who somebody appears to have dumped near my house (We live in the country) She has orange eyes. Unfortunately, my digital camera decided to quit working and I can't put up a picture immediately but when I can I will.

12. Our polydactyl kitten is the sweetest, kindest cat I've ever had.

He has opposable thumbs plus other assorted extra toes. Since he can't retract the claws in the thumbs he is learning how to deal with them. It's cute.
